From the eBay description:
"In the 1970s Eddy Merckx licensed his name to Falcon of England to make bikes in his Molteni team colors. They made some very basic bikes like this and also a 531 frame with Campagnolo components. This one is pretty much original except perhaps the rear derailleur which was most likely a plastic Simplex and is now a Shimano. The right plastic shift lever is broken, but clamp-on shifters are easy enough to find. I have replaced the decals on the seat tube and the head tube which were mostly gone, but the down tube decal is original. The bike has 26 x 1 1/4 tires, the English EA-1 or Schwinn S-6 size not the American mountain bike size. New tires can be had for around $15 each and these are pretty old. Rims are original Rigida steel with dimples, and hubs are alloy large flange Suzue. Brakes are Weinmann Vanqueur 999 just like the Raleigh International had. Crank is Sugino Maxi. Freewheel is Regina. Saddle is plastic Mertens Coureur made in Germany. Everything works but if I were fixing it up for use I would overhaul the hubs, headset, bottom bracket, and lube the freewheel, and put on some Suntour shifters. It is pretty clean otherwise with very little rust. The frame size is 19" or 49.5 cm and the effective top tube length is 57 cm. Bars and stem are GB alloy and are 41 cm wide and 7 cm long respectively. Your chance to own a cool goofy bike with a famous name."
